Davids Lab - Translational CLL Research

The Davids Lab
TRANSLATIONAL CLL RESEARCH

Picture

Johannes Hildebrand, M.Sc

PhD Candidate
Previous Visiting Researcher
M.Sc., 2018, Ludwig-Maximilians-Univeristy Munchen, Munich

Johannes joined the Davids Lab in 2022 for a 3-month research rotation towards the end of his PhD in Professor Oliver Weigert´s lab at the LMU hospital. His thesis focuses on aberrant cathepsin S signaling in follicular lymphoma.

With increasing evidence of cathepsins being capable of cleaving BH3 family members, he started investigating therapeutic vulnerabilities of lymphomas and other cancers with cathepsin S alterations. He hopes to improve therapy for a subset of cancers and to increase awareness for the underestimated yet complex protease network.

He brought to the Davids Lab his previous experience in translational lymphoma research, including molecular biology methods like protein assays, flow cytometry, and co-culture systems.

In his spare time, he likes to explore the nature, do mountain and ocean sports, or meet and cook with friends.
